The Island of Faial is par excellence a Tourist destination connected to the Sea. Whale watching, Dolphin Diving, Shark Diving, Sea bottom observation on a built boat, Diving with Scuba, Sailing, Big Game Fishing, Boat Fishing and swimming in our excellent beaches and waters of the Atlantic Ocean are some of the attractions of Faial.
In terms of activities on Earth, the Faial Natural Park, the only EDEN destination (European Destinations of Excellence) offers a diversity of experiences, in addition to the Environmental Centers, more than 100km of Rails are available to visitors .
The biodiversity and geodiversity of Faial are elements of our identity, an inheritance that requires sustainable management, so that it can be observed by the next generations.
Thus, to preserve such a precious natural treasure, the "Faial Natural Park" was created. This structure allows the management of the territory, oriented to the conservation of nature as well as the sustainable use of natural resources, in order to promote tourism and well-being of residents.
