Solar Moves has a sustainable tourism program. The walks will put you in touch and in harmony with nature through unique and environmentally friendly experiences.

Boats:

Marvel at Ria Formosa in a unique experience aboard our solar boats. We are an environmentally friendly alternative to current boat trips and crossings in Ria Formosa.

Our fleet consists solely of boats powered by 100% solar energy, which provides smooth and silent walks along the entire route, thus contributing to the preservation of Ria Formosa, a natural heritage of undeniable importance.

Hiking:

Get to know the wonders of this Algarve area, its villages, its history and some of its traditions. All through trails and pedestrian paths.

Getting off the road to explore Ria Formosa's jewels, discovering the city of Tavira, its historic villages and towns is the purpose of the Solar Moves organizing walks.

Our walks are an outdoor activity, usually of low difficulty, ideal for relaxing and contemplating nature.

Along the trails it is possible to know the rich biodiversity of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Immerse yourself in the unique flora and fauna and discover delicacies such as Indian figs, birdwatching and magnificent landscapes of great environmental value.

Cacela Velha, a privileged place for contemplation of the Ria Formosa, is located on a cliff with more than 1 million years.

During a tour of the past, our participants will have a dining experience on board, where the true "sea taste" of fresh seafood and local wine will do the honors of the house.

Dive in the sea

On a trip to Desert Island (Cabanas) we invite participants to take a dip in the warm waters of the Algarve.

With the aid of a diving mask you can submerge in the crystal clear waters of Desert Island and enjoy unique moments.

Bird Watching Nature Walk

In this tour you will get to know the beauty of the Ria Formosa fauna and flora. Currently one of the lagoon areas with the greatest potential for bird watching, it serves as home or passage in its migratory routes to more than 200 bird species.

In a smooth and quiet gliding boat, participants will enjoy this true natural splendor.

Tavira and its fishing

Tavira is the city where you can find the typical 4-water roofs. Affectionately known as the “Algarvian Venice”, this is the city you can easily be charmed by.

In this tour we intend to take you through the history of the city, visiting places like the villages of Santa Luzia and Cabanas, the Ferreira Neto village, the nurseries and the salt flats.

Cacela Velha - Wild Route

Starting in the beautiful village of Cacela Velha, this route takes participants along the banks of the Ria Formosa to the Manta Rota.

The return is made by a trail that offers wonderful views of the Ria and the Sea. Surrounded by typical dune vegetation it is possible to get in touch with the fauna and flora of the Ria Formosa Natural Park in its greatest splendor, see an ancient Nora used for the water catchment and finish next to a typical mediterranean garden.

Santa Luzia - Cultural Route

In a walk of about 7.5km we will go around the outskirts of Tavira, unveiling some of the best views over the Ria Formosa and the most riverside part of the county.

We will also pass by orange groves, salt marshes, iconic beaches, and the tuna museum to end up in the typical village of Santa Luzia (the octopus capital).

Get ready to find true treasures and bring unforgettable memories with you.

Tour Arraial Ferreira Neto -Birdwatching

This course, held along the salt flats in the Arraial Ferreira Neto area is ideal for Birdwacthing. This place is considered one of the main hotspots of this sport in the Algarve.

In addition to the wide variety of birds that we can observe along the way, it is also possible to see closely the operation of the salt industry in its most traditional way.

The Forte do Rato and the emblematic walls built in the 19th century. XVI by D. Sebastião are also included in this route.

If you are a lover of old and historical areas, then this is undoubtedly the ideal route for you!

We will visit the most emblematic monuments of the city, such as churches, forts and castles.

Throughout the course some strategic stops will be made to enjoy the most beautiful views over Tavira.
