Space surrounded by history!

The House

Dated from the XXVII century, the L-shaped Casa do Campo presents itself as a Portuguese land, austere and majestic, with large bare white walls and sculpted granite columns, among which stands out the imposing tower of stone .

The interior of the house, furnished with pieces of style from the time of the maritime expansion, takes us to a secular environment.

In the interior, a few meters from the main building, is an amazing portal of the XXVIII century, crowned by a cross and pyramidal finials, elaborated with a remarkable technique rarely used in the granite rock.

The chapel, of rare beauty and notoriously Renaissance style, was instituted in 1763 and dedicated to Our Lady of the Abbey. It preserves from its origin the Blessed Sacrament, an exceptional privilege for a private chapel, and is the object of a procession held every year.

Gardens

Experts say that it is in the garden of Casa do Campo that the oldest cameleira in Portugal, about 250 years old, flourishes, being one of the only places in the world where these trees form arches and corridors.

These gardens, of baroque style, would have been created from the middle of century XVIII, being its location one of its greater peculiarities.

It is situated on an unusual plan, high in relation to the level of the house, isolated on the front slope, and with access from the first floor.

The Garden is crossed by small paths of buxos and hedges of cut cameleiras, that allow the access to the diverse environments. Among these paths we can find tables of stone, a fountain and a lake, surrounded by cylinders, rings, umbrellas, arches and cupolas of cameleiras. It is this set of peculiarities that make this garden one of the most artistic in the North of Portugal.

Rooms

The house has 6 bedrooms, 2 suites and 2 rooms in the garden.

Each room has been furnished with its own style, combining antiques with contemporary objects, giving each space a unique environment where comfort is the main concern.

Recreation

Casa do Campo offers you a range of facilities that allow you to enjoy a relaxing stay. You can dive in the beautiful swimming pool of the manor, play a game of tennis or enjoy the typical products of the region available at the craft shop.

You can also choose to enjoy the scenery or simply admire the daily life of the farm. Here you can mix in the routine of the local population, because the country house still maintains its agricultural activity.

Events

Casa do Campo can accommodate a series of events, including: business meetings, workshops, congresses and seminars.
